On a business trip in Budapest
It can be hard for a business traveller coming to Budapest to find all the useful information they might need during the short visit. Below, you can find everything you might need for such a trip.
Hotels
Being on a business trip, you will probably look for a hotel in the city centre. On the Pest (East) side of the Danube you can find three five-star hotels, Four Seasons Gresham Palace, Intercontinental, and the Marriott (and Marriott Suites), on the opposite side of the river, in the Castle, is the fourth, Budapest Hilton. On the pulse of the capital, the Grand Boulevard, are two luxury hotels, the Grand Hotel Royal and the Boscolo New York Palace. On the outer part of Andrássy avenue is the five-star Bauhaus building of Andrássy Hotel. At the foot of Castle hill, there are numerous three and four star hotels, like Art'otel, the brand new Lánchíd Hotel, or Hotel Carlton. In the city centre you can find five-star hotels le Meridien and Kempinski, while K+K Opera and Boutique Hotel Zara have four stars. Nice for a business trip are Mercure Korona, Taverna, or Hotel Erzsébet. With three stars Best Western Art Hotel, the nice and modern jewel Hotel Pest, or the Ambra in the old Jewish quarter are also to be mentioned.
At the airport there are no hotels yet, but the town next to it offers some nice hotels, from where you can reach the terminals in 5-10 minutes by a free transfer bus.
Car rental or transfer

Rent a car at Fox Autorent
Arriving at the airport you can rent a car immediately, however, you can do that even online. Budapest.travel’s trusty partner is Fox Autorent. If you do not wish to rent a car, you can easily get to the city centre by taxi, or you can order a limousine transfer, the providers can be found here. We do not recommend public transport from the airport to business travellers.
Conferences
Budapest offers countless opportunities for holding smaller, bigger and even huge conferences, meetings or exhibitions. Budapest.travel’s only partner is the agency with a young and dynamic team: Raygun. Ask them for a quotation here.
Restaurants
Most of the restaurants in Budapest are suitable for a
business dinner. Our detailed restaurant guide can be found here.
WI-FI, Internet cafés
In most hotels, cafés and restaurants, you can find free wi-fi access, which makes life easier for business travellers with laptops. Should you not have one, and were there no Business Center in your hotel, look for these outstanding internet cafés listed below.
Sports and free time
All of the luxury hotels offer excellent sporting and recreational opportunities. Should you be interested in something else, have a look at the spas, swimming pools, or quality fitness centres of Budapest. Budapest’s newest golf club (with a….hole course) opened in the spring of 2007.
Night life
If you are into night life, read this to find interesting cultural events. If you would prefer going to a night club, be careful, as many clubs overcharge and trick their guests. Other ’experiences’ we do not recommend, regarding the safety of your money and valuables.
